Google Drive

Google Drive provides cloud file storage and dynamic video delivery for access.caltech users only. For FERPA compliance, content stored in G Suite Google Drive is only accessible to access.caltech users. Public links cannot be generated.

Email

Please note that Caltech does NOT use Gmail for email services. Please refer to Office 365 Email & Calendar.

Google Drive and VPN

VPN is not required for cloud services such as Google Drive. For a better experience, IMSS recommends not connecting to VPN while using Google Drive.

Online Learning

  • Lectures that get recorded will be stored in Google Drive or Zoom Cloud
  • Students may upload their own recordings or other material to collaborate with other students or faculty

Log in Instructions

I already have a personal Google account

  • If you already use Google for a personal account, going to the link above will take you to your personal hangouts
  • To add the Caltech hangout, go to the top right corner and click on your initials or profile picture
  • Select Add another account

  • Now follow the steps below "I do not have a personal Google account"

I do not have a personal Google account

  • Go to https://drive.google.com
  • Enter your Caltech username@caltech.edu, for example jsmith@caltech.edu
    • NOTE: do not enter an alias or preferred email address such as john.smith@caltech.edu

GoogleLogIn

  • Click Next
  • Enter your access.caltech username and password

  • Click Login
